Dr. Jessie Hawkins is a scientific researcher, the Tennessee Regional Director for NAHA, and the Executive Director of the Franklin Institute of Wellness, a fully authorized postsecondary institution offering college certificates and diplomas in Aromatherapy Science. She also oversees the Franklin Institute of Wellness’ aromatherapy research department, which conducts original scientific studies on the therapeutic applications of essential oils.

In addition to holding certifications in the natural health fields of aromatherapy, aromatic medicine, herbalism, childbirth education, and labor support, Dr. Hawkins holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health, a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion, has additional post-graduate education in the field of epidemiology, and a PhD in Health Research. Dr. Hawkins combines her expertise as an aromatherapist and herbalist with her formal research training to educate and empower aromatherapy students from around the world on the evidence-based uses of essential oils using both existing research in the scientific literature and original research conducted at the Franklin Institute of Wellness.

In addition to teaching at the Franklin Institute of Wellness, Dr. Hawkins has presented at a wide range of institutions including Vanderbilt University, Middle Tennessee State University, and Meharry Medical School. She has written over a dozen books on various topics of natural health, and has taught tens of thousands of individuals world-wide how to live healthier lives through the use of herbs and essential oils.
