Dr. Marian "Marnie" Reven is a Registered Nurse and Registered Aromatherapist from the United States. She is a professor of nursing at West Virginia University where she teaches in the clinical and classroom settings and shares aromatherapy with students with the wellness team in the health science program. Marnie is a researcher with several key studies and projects including creation of TREATS (the Transparent Reporting for Essential oil & Aroma Therapeutic Studies) checklist and founding of the Aromatic Research Quality Appraisal taskforce (ARQAT). In 2019, she completed a study with oncology nurses using aromatherapy patches for workplace wellbeing. In 2024, she completed a clinical trial involving Bergamot and adults in treatment for substance use disorder. Both showed promising results for increased comfort and wellbeing.
