Menopause often brings long-buried traumas and inherited stories from previous generations to the surface. Many women find themselves carrying unresolved narratives from their motherline—painful experiences, survival patterns, or limitations imposed by a past shaped by a patriarchal value system. Without the tools to address these legacies, they may feel burdened by a weight that’s difficult to articulate yet impacts their journey toward self-discovery and healing. At this stage of life, there’s a deep calling to reconnect with the wisdom of the women who came before. Elder-hood invites us to resonate with our ancestral stories and embrace a new role in society, but to do so in a healthy way, we must address the unique wounds and strengths of our motherlines. Only by integrating this lineage can we make space for personal growth and step forward with clarity, strength, and a renewed sense of purpose. Essential oils are the best tool I have found to accompany women on this deep inner journey of ancestral healing. In this talk I will bring some oils for participants to smell as I talk about using them for research, guided journeying, protection, dream work and shadow work.
